I have done so much investigating on this family, and I just wanted to share it with you...

Here we go.. Here is Jean Paul Getty Sr.
An American industrialist, miser, and the founder of the Getty Oil Company. He built an oil empire that was vertically integrated, controlling all parts of the business from the oil well to the retail gas station. This made him the richest man of his day, one of the first people in the world with a fortune of over 1 billion U.S. dollars. Getty was also an avid collector of art and antiquities, and his collection forms the basis of the J. Paul Getty Museum in California.
What was very interesting is he tried to bring all these sons into the oil business and set them up to fail. He didn't even see his children 'till they were working age. He found no interest in children. He'd write them letters and when they sent him letters he would send them back telling them to correct the spelling.
At age 99, in 2013, Getty's fifth wife, and last, as well as longest marriage , Louise—now known as Teddy Getty Gaston—published a memoir reporting how Getty had scolded her for spending money too freely in the 1950s on the treatment of their six-year-old son, Timmy, who had become blind from a brain tumor. Timmy died at age 12, and Getty, living in England apart from his wife and son back in the U.S., did not attend the funeral. Teddy divorced him that year. Teddy Gaston died in April 2017 at the age of 103.

Getty was quoted as saying "A lasting relationship with a woman is only possible if you are a business failure" and "I hate to be a failure. I hate and regret the failure of my marriages. I would gladly give all my millions for just one lasting marital success.

Sutton Place is a Grade I listed Tudor manor house It was built in 1524 and was given by Henry VIII to a courtier, Sir Richard Weston, in return for condemning Lord Buckingham to death. The estate has had a string of famous owners including Jean Paul Getty who spent the last 25 years of his life there before his death in 1976. The estate is currently reputedly owned by Alisher Usmanov, the Russian billionaire who has bought a large financial stake in Arsenal FC.
These are the lodges at the eastern entrance to the estate on the A3 London Road, and, I am speculating, this may have been the main entrance to the estate in former times. This view was taken looking across the A3 from the footpath on the far side.

Getty had been prominent members of the "Swinging London" of the 1960s, he became a recluse after her death and began receiving treatment for his drug addiction. He later renounced his American citizenship and donated hundreds of millions of dollars to various causes, particularly the arts. Getty died in 2003 at the age of 70. - John Paul Getty III had two children
- Known as the "golden hippie" in the early 1970s for his golden locks and rebellious ways. He was kidnapped in 1973 at the age of 16, and when his grandfather refused to send the ransom, the kidnappers cut off his ear. After the ransom was paid and the teenager was released, he became a drug addict and suffered a stroke in 1981 that left him unable to walk or talk. Getty died at the age of 54.
- John Paul lived a bohemian lifestyle around New York hanging out with famous artists and musicians of the time such as Andy Warhol.The couple had a son, Balthazar, who went on to become a Hollywood actor.But in 1981, still only 25, John Paul took the overdose that prompted his stroke.The cocktail of valium, methadone and alcohol left him almost blind and confined to a wheel chair. Paul's own father, Sir John Paul II, refused to pay his huge medical bills, saying he had to live with the consequences of his own drug-induced actions.

The one that fascinates me most in this tree is Gordon Getty.Though he is a registered Republican. Gordon Getty has held numerous fundraisers for Democratic candidates like Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Nancy Pelosi and John Kerry.
