DETOX RECIPE

Today I am starting my  7 day detox for high PH. Knowing how well I will feel after a week is the only thing that gets me through it. I'm not gonna lie...it sucks.
Our PH gets out of whack mostly due to the typical American diet, which is far too high in acid-producing animal products like meat, eggs and dairy, and far too low in alkaline-producing foods like fresh vegetables. Additionally, we eat acid-producing processed foods like white flour and sugar and drink acid-producing beverages like coffee and soft drinks.       We use too many drugs, which are acid-forming; and we use artificial chemical sweetners like NutraSweet, Equal, or aspartame, which are extremely acid-forming. One of the best things we can do to correct an overly-acid body is to clean up the diet and lifestyle.

Perfect candidates for a detox include those who experience:

  • Weight issues
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Frequent colds & flus
  • Allergies & asthma
  • High blood pressure
  • Constipation or digestive problems
  • Menstrual problems
  • Aches & pains

The first step in correcting your pH (alkaline-acid) imbalance is to remove debris that has built up in the body over the years from dietary and environmental toxins such as refined foods, processed foods, household chemicals and pollution. The acid that is generated from these toxins harms the body and causes low energy, pain and other health problems. By detoxing and cleansing your body, you allow it to heal naturally.

Many of the ingredients in this vegetarian recipe are powerfully alkaline. A benefit of alkaline foods is that they contain a considerable amount of negative ions that will bind to free radicals. Negative ions can also subdue levels of a neurohormone called serotonin, and have a calming effect on the body.
There are many benefits to alkalizing foods. Most of what ails us is due to inflammation. This broth is also an anti-inflammatory food.It is also great for getting rid of stress.

Sip on it all day and do a broth cleanse. Or, replace a few dinners in a row with the broth. Add free range chicken to it if you want.
