PET OXYGEN MASKS

Just ordered pet oxygen masks for my donation to the fire department.It's my Christmas present to all our" furry faced friends" in the village! xoxoxoxo
Does your local fire department have them, it might be worth checking in to.





A small but growing number of fire departments around the nation are acquiring oxygen masks for pets through the kind donations of animal lovers like you. A gift that will let firefighters help dogs and cats suffering from smoke inhalation.


 Each engine and medic unit in the city will have a green bag filled with a large pet oxygen mask and instructions on how to deliver the air to the distressed pet. The rescue truck, which goes to all fires, also will be equipped with a small canine mask and a feline mask.These masks cover the pet’s entire snout, rather than firefighters having to give a pet oxygen through a tube that blows it by their face.








The U.S. Fire Administration provides these tips to help rescuers find your pets:
• When leaving the house, keep pets in areas near the home’s entrance so firefighters can easily spot the pet.
• Practice escape routes with your pets. Keep collars and leashes ready in case you have to leave the house quickly or firefighters have to rescue your pet.
• Stick a pet alert removable sticker in the window near your door. On it, write the number of pets in the house. This saves firefighters time in locating your pets.

Losing a pet due to a house fire can be a devastating experience. As most pet owners leave their furry companions home alone when they go to work, pets are left to fend for themselves in the event of a house fire. While affixing 'rescue alert stickers' to your home can be helpful to first responders, saving the pet's life is not assured. Unlike humans who instinctively run out during fires, pets instinctively look for a hiding place to protect them from the fire.
Far too many pets die each year of smoke asphyxiation (Click HERE to learn more). While firemen attempt to get pets safely out of burning structures, they are not able to revive them unless they have the proper equipment — pet oxygen masks. These specially-designed animal masks can be used both on conscious pets that have suffered from smoke inhalation and pets that need to be resuscitated after losing consciousness from exposure to the dangerous toxic fumes.

BISQUICK IMPOSSIBLE PIE RECIPES


Impossible Cheesecake Recipe

3/4 cup milk
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup bisquick mix
2 lg. pkg cream cheese, cut into cubes and softened
Cheesecake topping
Blend milk, vanilla, eggs, sugar, and baking mix in blender on high for 15 seconds. Add cream cheese. Blend on high 2 min.
Pour into a greased 9in pie plate. Bake until center is set, 40 to 45 min. Cool, spread topping below carefully on top. Serve with fruit.
Cheesecake Topping: Mix 1 cup sour cream, 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 tsp vanilla. Spread on cooled cheesecake

Impossible Cheeseburger Pie

1 lb ground beef, browned
1/2 onion, chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 cup shredded cheese
1 cup milk
1/2 cup Bisquick baking mix
2 eggs
Heat oven to 400. Mix all ingredients with a fork until blended. Pour into pie plate. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

Impossible Taco Pie Recipe

1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
2 envelopes taco seasoning
3/4 cup bisquik
1 1/4 cup milk
3 eggs
1 cup shredded cheese
1/4 head of lettuce
1 tomato diced
sour cream
Heat oven to 400. Grease a square baking dish 8x8x2. Cook beef and onion, drain. Stir in seasoning mix and spoon into plate.
Beat bisquick, milk and eggs till almost smooth. Pour on top of ground beef in dish. Bake 25 min. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake till cheese is melted, about 2 min. Cool 5 min. Serve with chopped lettuce, chopped tomatoes and sour cream.

Impossible Taco Pie Recipe # 2

Adjust the hotness to your tastebuds, I don't add the hot stuff at all.
1 lb ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 envelope taco seasoning
1 can whole chilis, seeded, chopped and drained
1 cup shredded Monteray Jack cheese
1 1/4 cups milk
3/4 cup bisquick
3 eggs
1/8 tsp red pepper sauce
Heat oven to 400. Lightly grease a 10 inch pie plate. Cook ground beef with the onion in a skillet, and drain. Stir in the seasoning mix.
Spread beef mixture into pie plate. Beat remaining ingredients till smooth and pour over ground beef.
Bake 25 to 30 min till golden brown, and knife inserted comes out clean. Let set 5 min. before cutting. Sprinkle more cheese on top.
Serve with sour cream.

Impossible Pie Recipe - Chicken Broccoli

2 cans chunk chicken drained, or 1 cup cooked chopped chicken
1 pkg frozen broccoli 10 oz - thawed
1 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 cup milk
3 eggs
1/2 cup Bisquick
1/4 tsp seasoned salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/8 tsp dried thyme leaves
Heat oven to 400. Layer chicken, then broccoli and then cheese, in a greased 9 inch pie pan. Beat remaining ingredients except topping in a blender on high for 15 secs.
Pour into pie plate and bake 20 minutes. Sprinkle with the topping below and bake till center comes out clean, about 15 to 20 min. Cool 5 min.
Here's how you make the topping. Mix 1/2 cup Bisquick mix, 1/4 cup chopped nuts, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese and 1/8 tsp garlic powder. Cut in 2 tablespoons of margarine or butter.

Impossible Turkey Pie

2 cups leftover turkey, chopped
1 jar sliced mushrooms, drained
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1 1/2 cups milk
3/4 cup Bisquik mix
3 eggs
Heat oven to 400. Lightly grease a 10 inch pie plate. Sprinkle turkey, mushrooms, salt and cheese in the pie plate.
Beat the remaining ingredients until smooth, 15 seconds in a blender on high speed would work, or hand beat till lump free. Carefully pour into pie plate.
Bake until golden brown, and a knife inserted close to middle comes out clean, baking time is 30 to 35 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting. Refrigerate remaining pie. Quick and easy.

Bisquick Leftover Turkey Casserole Recipe

Here's a recipe for your leftover turkey. Cream of mushroom soup would work too.
6 slices bacon
3/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1 sm can mushrooms drained
1 can cream of celery soup
1 cup sour cream
3 cups cut up cooked turkey or chicken
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
2 cups Bisquick mix
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese
Heat oven to 350. Grease a 2 quart round casserole dish. Fry the bacon in a skillet till crisp, remove and crumble. Add the onion, celery and green pepper to the bacon fat and cook till tender. Drain.
Stir in the soup, sour cream, and turkey, salt, peper, and bacon. Heat until bubbly and spread in casserole. Mix the remaining ingredients just until moistened, and spread over the turkey mixture. Bake uncovered until golden brown 30 to 35 min.

Easy Bisquick Casserole with Ham and Broccoli

2 pkg - 10oz - frozen chopped broccoli
2 cups cut up fully cooked smoked ham
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup Bisquick mix
3 cups milk
4 eggs
Heat oven to 350. Cook broccoli as directed on pkg and drain. Spread in a ungreased rectangular baking pan or dish 13x9x2. Layer the ham and cheese on broccoli. Beat remaining ingredients with hand beater till smooth. Slowly pour over cheese. Bake uncovered 1 hr. Makes 6 to 8 servings.

SORE THROAT/COUGH REMEDY







How do you cure a sore throat?







It's simple and very very very effective, almost works instantly.... for best results take before entering bed to go to sleep, and DO NOT drink any water or other liquids after it.
Here it is ..... enjoy and get well quickly.
(1). Get an empty drinking glass and put in a tablespoon full of honey ONLY (anytype of honey)
(2). Slice of a 50 CENT piece size of FRESH ginger, about the thickness of your pinky (small finger)
(3). Now squeeze and press that piece of ginger, untill you have all the liquid you can get out of it (use a small plate and a large spoon to do this), then put the ginger liquid into the same glass with the honey in it.
(4). Put half a teaspoon of Black pepper powder into that same glass, and mix all the three together. (Honey/Ginger Liquid/Black Pepper).
(5). Pour the mixture into a Large spoon and slowly swollow it down, making sure you take a small bit at a time, like sucking a piece of toffee. Finish the whole amount and DO NOT drink any other liquids or water to try to get rid of the taste, the taste will be gone in about 5 mins.
The ginger and pepper are pretty strong in taste, so dont be put off. This is a very old, time tested remedy with all natural parts, it works wonders and does NOT have any adverse effects whatsoever. Ask your granny or grandad they will tell you so. Get well soon.








Bisquick fruit desserts


Deep Dish Apple Pie

Line just the sides of a 9-inch round baking dish 2 or 3 inches deep, with Bisquick pastry. Pare, core and slice 12 medium sized cooking apples and mix 1 cup of sugar and 2 tsp. of cinnamon with them. Fill the unbaked crust with the apples, dot with 2 tablespoons butter. Sprinkle with a little water, cover with top crust and bake. Individual casseroles 2 inches deep may be used in place of the larger dish.

Bisquick Pastry

Cut 4 tablespoons of shortening into 1 cup of Bisquick. Leave this additional shortening in rather large pieces -- about the size of peas. Add just enough ice water to make dough stay together - about 3 tablespoons. This will make pastry for 1 crust for an 8 inch pan. For a 2 crust pie, double the recipe.

Fresh Fruit Cobbler

Fruit CobblerWash fruit (cherries, peaches, apricots, or berries) and remove pits from cherries, apricots or peaches. Peel peaches or apricots. Heat 3 cups fruit with 1 cup sugar (1/2 cup for sweet fruit), and 1 cup water. Blend in 1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in a little cold water and cook for 3 minutes.
Pour into the bottom of buttered baking dish. Dot with 1/2 tablespoon butter and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Let cool while preparing Bisquick Shortcaketop. Cover with Bisquick Shortcake dough and bake 30 minutes in a moderately hot oven 400 F.

Canned Fruit Cobbler

Use one #2 can of sweetened berries or other fruit. Mix a little of the fruit juice with 1 tablespoon cornstarch. Stir this into the remaining juice heated and add fruit or berries. Place in pudding dish, cover with Bisquick Shortcake dough and bake same as Fresh Fruit Cobbler. (If canned fruit is not sweetened, add sugar to taste.)

Fresh Fruit Rolls

4 medium sized apples (or 3 cups berries or other fruit)
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1 tablespoon butter
Sugar and cinnamon
Prepare syrup by putting sugar and water in a 6x12 inch pan 2 inches deep. Cook about 5 minutes over a slow fire. While syrup is cooking make up the biscuit dough. Roll dough into an oblong shape, 1/2 inch thick. Spread with finely chopped apples or any desired fruit and roll up like a jelly roll. Cut this long roll into pieces, about 1 1/2 inches wide. Place pieces cut side down in the pan of hot syrup. Dot with butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake in a hot oven (450 F) until the crust is golden brown, about 25 minutes. Serve the slices of roll with some of the syrup and with cream also if desired.
Note: Fresh cherries, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, cranberries, peaches, are just as delicious as apples in this dessert. Canned fruit may be used by draining it and adding the juice to the syrup. Amount: 10 to 12 servings of delicious dessert.

Dessert Dumplings

Add 1/4 cup sugar to 1 1/2 cups Bisquick. Stir in 1/2 cup milk. Beat well and drop into hot sauce, in a wide kettle. Cover tightly and cook over low flame (or over asbestos mat*) to keep from burning. Cook 10 minutes. *Obviously asbestos mats do not exist any more.

For Caramel Dumplings

Caramelize 1/2 cup sugar in a heavy pan. Add 2 tablespoons butter and 1 cup of water. Cook until dissolved (about 10 minutes), stirring occasionally. Drop in dumplings. Cover tightly and cook.

For Applesauce Dumplings

Pare, core and cut up 9 apples and cook with 3/4 cup of water and 3/4 cup of sugar until apples are mushy. Drop in Dumplings. Cover tightly and cook.

For Peach or Apricot Dumplings

Bring to a boil 1 cup sliced fruit, 1 cup juice (or one #2 can) and 1 tablespoon butter. Drop in Dumplings. Cover tightly and cook.

Fruit Puffs

3/4 cup berries
6 tablespoons sugar
1 cup Bisquick
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
Grease 6 little custard cups or pudding molds well. Place 2 tablespoons berries and 1 tablespoon sugar in the bottom of each mold. Combine Bisquick with sugar and mix well. Beat egg and add milk. Combine with Bisquick mixture. Pour batter over berries in molds, filling each cup a little less than 2/3 full. Tie waxed paper* over the top of each cup. Steam 1/2 hour. Serve with cream or any desired pudding sauce. This makes 6 individual puddings.
Note: Blackberries, raspberries, huckleberries, blueberries, cherries or sliced peaches may be used.
* I have no idea how they tied the wax paper on.

Fig Roll with Lemon Sauce

Cook 3/4 cup sugar, 1 cup water, and 1 cup fig juice (drained from figs) in a pan 2 inches deep, for about 5 minutes. Make biscuit dough by using the recipe for Bisquicks. Roll out into rectangular piece, spread with the one cup drained, chopped cooked figs and roll into a long roll. Cut into pieces about 1 1/2 inches wide. Place cut side down in pan of hot syrup; dot with butter; bake until the crust is golden brown, - about 25 minutes in a hot oven, 450 F. Lift out on platter and pour syrup over the hot rolls. Serve with sharp lemon sauce*.
* They did not include the recipe for sharp lemon sauce.

Bisquick Pumpkin Dessert Recipe

1 cup Bisquick baking mix
1/2 cup quick cooking oatmeal
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup firm butter or margarine
Mix until crumbly and press into a 13x9x2 pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350.
1 can pumpkin
1 can evaporated milk
2 eggs
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp ground cloves
Mix above together and pour over baked layer and bake 20 minutes.
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons firm butter
Mix these till crumbly and sprinkle over filling. Bake until set for 15 to 20 minutes.
Make a Spiced Whipped Cream to top it off.
Beat 1 cup chilled whipping cream in a chilled bowl until soft peaks form. Beat in 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon grated orange peel, and 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon until stiff peaks form.

Cherry Crunch Bisquick Dessert

1 can cherry pie filling
1 can black cherries-no seeds, drained
3/4 cup Bisquick
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 cup firm butter or margarine
Mix pie filling and black cherries in an ungreased square 8 in baking dish. Mix the Bisquick mix, nuts, sugar, and cinnamon. Cut in the margarine until crumbly, sprinkle over cherry mixture.
Bake in 375 oven until brown, about 35 min. Serve with a scoop nof ice cream on top.

Boudoir Lamp

A couple years before my mother passed she gave me a porcelain lady boudoir lamp. Her name is Veronica, and the face plate says she is 285 out of 1000. I had her in the closet for at least 6 years. Now that I am doing my crafty bedroom makeover, I thought it to be the perfect place for her. The only problem is that her nightie and shoes were all black. That just couldn't match in my "Marie Chic " (Shabby Chic and Marie Antionette syle) bedroom. Today she got a bath and a updated vintage lace negligee.

VINTAGE WEDDING DRESS SHADOW BOX





I deciding to make my spare bedroom into a craft/ sewing/ guest bedroom, which by the way is only 10 ft. x 10 ft. Having such a small space is challenging, when there must be so many combined uses it must achieve.


My mother(God rest her soul) made me my Neiman Marcus version of a dress I found in their catalog back in 1983,which had a price tag of $23,900. I can still remember that dress all laid out on the table for months. Every time anyone would come visit, they would help sew on the pearls. We made many trips to Milwaukee where they had the biggest selection of just the right pearls, and would put them in a small brown paper lunch bag.
Mommy always had the dress in a glass case in her living room, so after she passed 4 years ago, I had to give her work of art the respect and admiration it so very deserved.Your wedding dress will probably be one of the most sentimental and treasured items you'll ever want to preserve and keep for generations to come.


I spent weeks and maybe months trying to find that perfect wedding dress. There is the time and then the expense that goes along with it. We wear such an exquisite and beautiful dress only once. It  became a sentimental part of my existence. Yes, I know there are pictures and video but why not have the dress framed and hung in a special place so I can pass by it for years to come and get reminded over and over again what a special wedding dress she had made just for me.


 I decided to frame my wedding dress in a beautiful shadow box. This will preserve the dress, keep it safe from harmful light or dust, and allow me,my friends, and guests to pass by my beautiful  dress and enjoy it's very existence, just as one would in a fine art gallery.

EDIBLE SUGAR DIAMONDS


Okay, you want a little bling or sparkle for a cake, and don't know where to begin?...You've come to the right place!



*The diamonds are manufactured from Isomalt Sugar, a natural sugar substitute.


*Edible sugar diamonds are the latest in cake couture.


*They add instant sparkle and glamour to any cake whether cup cakes, a wedding or a Christmas cake.

Depending on the material of the mold, they can be made with just about anything. If they are high temperature molds you can use them with a boiled sugar or isomalt mixture for hard candy-style diamonds and jewels. 


I choose to use Isomalt:
 Isomalt is a chemically-produced sugar substitute perfect for candy-making as it creates a more humidity and moisture-resistant product. When it is being boiled, it doesn't need any anti-crystallizing ingredients as it does a great job of resisting crystallization on its own. Isomalt is sugar-free and lower in calories than regular sugar, but is made from sucralose.



Here's how to do it...
Measure 3 lbs. of isomalt into a heavy duty pot. Add about 6 oz. of bottled or filtered water. Mix the water in thoroughly. You will know when you have enough water when the isomalt looks like wet sand.

Place the pan on the stove and turn the heat on high. Stir the mixture to help it melt more quickly.

Wash down the crystals from the side of the pot using a silicone brush. Wet the brush in the melted isomalt, then brush down the sides of the pot



Place a candy thermometer on the side of the pan as soon as the mixture begins to boil.

Remove the pot from the burner when the thermometer reads 333 degrees Fahrenheit. Set the pot onto a damp towel.


Ladle melted isomalt into silicone molds shaped like diamond halves. Wait one minute until the isomalt begins to set. Pick up one half of the mold and set it on top of the other half to stick the two halves of the gem together. Fit the notch in the top and bottom half together to get the mold halves in the right place.


Wait 10 minutes until the gem has hardened. Open the mold and pop out the edible diamond.



I brush some glitter dust on lightly with  soft brush to give it some extra pizzazz!

If you want to make colored gems, add food coloring when the isomalt cools to about 310 degrees Fahrenheit.
