DETOX GINGER SALT BATH
My grandma from the old country told me about the benefits of an Epsom Salts bath.
Hot water opens the pores, allowing perspiration to take toxins away, as well as increasing absorption of nutrients such as magnesium and sulfate (in the salts), which help generate enzymes that clean up the body. It's so cheap to do your body good.
I am going to try to detoxify my body with a Ginger ~Epsom salt bath - It's said to get rid of toxins and helps neutralize acidity in order to get healthier and a great skin, lose weight, helps absorb the minerals and nutrients that are in the water, and just simply overall good health.
A very helpful solution after x-rays, airplane travel or radiation exposure, or for advanced detox and relaxation.
All you'll need is:
- 1 cup of Epsom salt
-2 cups baking soda
- 1/8 cup of ginger (powder from the local store or grated)
-1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
-lavender essential oil (just a few drops )optional
- hot water
- 40 minutes
Fill the tub with water as hot as you can tolerate without burning your skin.
Add ingredients and swoosh around with your hand until mixed.
(I take a vitamin C capsule before my bath to help toxin removal).
I do this 3 times a week, but use your discretion.
Here are some useful tips...
- after taking the bath try to avoid using lotions, perfume, or any chemical toxin, even nail polish.
-while you are taking the bath drink filtered water, as well as after your bath. This helps your insides release toxins. Did you know your skin is considered your third kidney?
-best when done before bed, as you may feel fatigued, achy, dizzy as well as sweaty.
This is all good....it's your body getting rid of all the nasty stuff and will subside in a couple days.
-After the bath, dry brush your skin with vegetable brush. This helps stimulate the lymphatic system, which can aid with the release of toxins.] Use long, gentle sweeping strokes aimed toward the heart.
-Don't eat immediately before or after the bath.
-Do not detox bath if you are pregnant, or have heart, kidney, diabetes or any other health issues.Ask your doctor.
Beware of side effects you may get after your bath, everyone is different. I get dizzy, headache, bad breath, and usually get a boil or two as well as acne and extra trips to the bathroom. It's not pretty for a couple days, but knowing the yuck is exiting my body makes it sooo worth while!
Other side effects may include cranky moods, insomnia, muscle soreness and or general weakness.feeling anxious and restless.
You may feel worse before feeling better.
You have to remember that the number of years of introducing toxins into our body can not be easily resolved by a mere short detox period.
These baths can be done a couple times a week, but not every day, also make sure to clean your tub really well in between uses.
You should never stay in the detox baths longer than forty minutes. If you do your body will start to re-absorb the toxins that came out in the bath.

Why Take A Detox Bath?
- Eliminates toxins from your body that have a negative “drowsy” effect on you - mentally, emotionally and physically.
- Flushes nasty, excessive fat that’s weighing you down… making you feel fat, look fat, and feel sluggish with each and every step you take.
- Promotes weight loss — making it easier and faster to lose weight effectively
- Improves digestion (which also helps with your weight-loss efforts) and keeps you feeling light as a feather - with a MASSIVE load of energy!
- Relieves constipation that you shouldn’t have in the first place.
Rub skin with Sesame oil while dry brushing toward your heart. Sesame Oil has been used as a healing oil for thousands of years. It is naturally antibacterial and anti-viral as well as athlete's foot fungus. Add to that, Sesame Seed Oil is a natural anti-oxidant,cell growth regulator, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory agent, making it an awesome oil to use for all over skin care.
As nose drops, sniffed into the sinuses, sesame seed oil can cure sinusitis. As a throat gargle, it kills strep and other common cold bacteria. It helps sufferers of psoriasis and dry skin ailments. It has been successfully used in the hair of children to kill lice infestations. It is a useful natural UV protector.
You can either leave it on overnight or you can wash your face in it. It’s packed with all the good stuff—Vitamin E, lecithin, minerals, proteins, and amino acids.
Use sesame oil on your feet with clean white cotton socks. Helps to soften up you feet and it absorbs fast
.
A great hair remedy, not only does it condition, but it also gets rid of the frizz. Put a small drop into your palm, rub both hands together, and apply it to dry hair.
It can also be sun blocker that helps prevent the skin from being damaged and extremely tanned by the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun.
Sesame oil is also effective as treatment for gum problems and toothache.
Thanks for stoppin' by!

Tree Branch Decor
I have been recently wondering what I wanted for a Christmas tree this year. I love the fresh tree, but hate that needles drop all over the floor .There is a fake fiber optic one in the attic , but I really am wanting something different this year.
That being said... I was thinking out of the box, and came up with an idea using recycled tree branches from the local brush pile. Free is always my favorite word ,so me and my two furry kids sent out on an adventure to find just the right branch.
We then brought them home along with some hydrangeas I found. I dug through my spray paint collection and found gold and copper. The branches are done in copper, and the hydrangeas are in gold.
I cemented the branches in a flower pot I had in the yard.
Under a big ole pine tree next to my garage I gathered some pine cones. These were glued to fish line and I added some crystals which I borrowed from the upstairs chandelier.
I brought in the potted branches........then began the fun part....DOODLING!!!
Clusters were made with roses and the hydrangeas, and hot glued on....
Then the pine cones, and crystals....
I love the way the branches make shadows on the ceiling at night!!
I just might leave this up all year and decorate for each Holiday. I can already imagine hearts for Valentines day, leopard eggs for Easter, etc.......
I will update this post with pictures .......See ya soon! xoxoxoxo

Vintage Napco Rotary Telephone Bank Circa 1940s-1950s
This is my delightful and unusual ceramic telephone bank! What a special find! I've seen them on line selling for $50.00 +.
Made in 1940-1950 by Napco Ceramic, this bank is in the shape of the old fashioned rotary dial telephone with delicate roses. It is very fancy, girly, and shabby chic.
There is a clear crystal where each number would go, amber crystals in the center of the bells, and in the middle of the dial are six clear and one amber crystal. . On the back is the slot for dropping in your coin and on the bottom, it is numbered IL1945.
Napco , or National Potteries Corporation, began production in 1938 and their products were extremely popular in the late '50s and early '60s. Napco produced figurines, collectibles, decorative glass and porcelain ceramics. Napco is still one of the most famous names for porcelain ceramics, antique pottery, vintage products and other collectibles. As collectors' items, it is important to identify NAPCO Ceramics by their marks and numbers.
National Potteries corporation started in 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio. Napco started as a manufacturer of floral containers but later concentrated on importing glassware, pottery, and ceramic items from Japan. Japanese ceramic imports peaked from 1956 to the early 1960s.
